Our founding: A passion for pyrotechnics
Booker's Bang was founded in 2002 by local Edgefield resident Travon Carter and his pyrotechnic partner, Jonathan West. United by a deep love for explosives and pyrotechnics, their goal was to give back to the local community by providing a wide variety of hand-picked quality products to the residents of Edgefield County.
Honoring a legacy: The name behind the bang
In Travon's words:
"Aladdin Harris, known to many as “Booker,” was a smart young man with a genuinely kind heart and soul. Though we were cousins, my grandmother raised us as brothers, and that’s exactly what we became. His passing hit me hard—I felt the weight of no longer being able to be a big brother to him.
As time went on, I realized I needed to find a way to honor and remember him. That’s what led me into the fireworks world—a fitting tribute to Aladdin, who was truly the firecracker of our family. His energy, spirit, and light continue to inspire everything we do.
That’s how “Booker’s Bang” was born."
